La reflexión sobre la dicotomía entre la investigación básica y la investigación aplicada y sus implicaciones en el campo de la educación surge precisamente de los debates en la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Antioquia acerca de las modificaciones o alteraciones que se han venido introduciendo en la dinámica interna de generación de conocimiento, a través de políticas públicas, normatividades o convocatorias de investigación, que silenciosamente permean la estructura académica e investigativa de la Universidad y la dejan acéfala ante una polifonía de intereses de orden político y económico.
