Towards socio-political education: a pedagogical approach focusing on discussions about a socio-scientific issue, supported on popular science sources

Abstract

This article shows how to make contributions to scientific and sociopolitical education. From a the oretical perspective focused on the study of argumentation about socio-scientific issues, in relation to the current challenges of science education, we propose a pedagogical approach that emphasizes the role of popular science in argumentationsby the students, who debate the practice of mining.
