Reflexiones sobre la propuesta de Boaventura de Sousa Santos para la universidad del siglo XXI

Abstract

En este artículo se plantean algunas reflexiones sobre el texto de BOAVENTURA DE SOUSA SANTOS titulado “La Universidad del Siglo XXI”. El planteamiento principal es que las tesis y propuestas de De Sousa siguen siendo válidas, motivo por el cual deben analizarse y discutirse por los sectores que plantean la necesidad y la conveniencia de una perspectiva democrático - participativa para las universidades públicas colombianas.  De Sousa Santos propone, en resumen, que hagamos una reforma creativa, democrática y emancipadora de la Universidad Pública en todo el mundo, y  sostiene que el único modo eficaz y emancipador de enfrentar la globalización neoliberal es contraponerle una globalización alternativa, que él llama “globalización contra - hegemónica”, pero que yo prefiero llamar “Globalización democrática”.
