Institucionalización de los semilleros de investigación (seminarios) en la universidad colombiana

El seminario es una técnica de grupo, sustentada por la Dinámica de Grupo
(ciencia ramal de la sicología social), mediante la cual un grupo pequeño estudia e
investiga intensivamente un tema, enseñándose a sí mismos y a sus compañeros, de manera planificada y recurriendo a fuentes originales de información; como su etimología lo indica (Lat. seminarius: semillero), es un sitio y una actividad (un instituto o corporación científica que forma parte de una universidad) para formar maestros investigadores con una orientación social; es además un recurso pedagógico que integra el desarrollo del ser (formación para la libertad y la sensibilidad humanística) con el del conocer (el conocimiento científico en beneficio de la humanidad) y con el del hacer (el aprendizaje y la práctica de métodos para obtener respuestas o soluciones a preguntas o problemas).
Cuando afirmamos que el seminario es un sitio y una actividad para la formación integral y específicamente diseñado para aprender a investigar armonizando la investigación con la enseñanza (sus miembros aprendan a investigar investigando y a enseñar enseñándose a sí mismos y a sus compañeros seminaristas, en un contexto social), estamos afirmando que el seminario tiene unos fines y medios propios. Lo anterior no excluye que esta técnica, o elementos
de ella, sean prestados y aplicados en otras actividades pedagógicas.
