La pesca entre los ticuna: historia, técnicas y ecosistemas

Este artículo es un aporte a la relación entre las técnicas de pesca de una sociedad indígena amazónica, los ticuna, y su contexto ambiental y social en el área de influencia del Río Amazonas. Se hace un análisis, desde una perspectiva histórica, de las técnicas de pesca utilizadas tanto por los denominados grupos de tierra firme como por las sociedades de várzea, relativizando esta drástica división, sugerida por diversos autores. Teniendo en cuenta una perspectiva del manejo de riesgos y optimización del recurso, se compara su efectividad con respecto a los proyectos institucionales de pscicultura y la pesca comercial y su poco arraigo al interior de la sociedad ticuna. Este artículo es el primer aporte cuantitativo que se hace sobre estos aspectos y especialmente sobre la preferencia dietética de peces. Este no ha sido un tema tratado hasta el presente por la etnografía colombiana.
