During the last two decades, the incessant arrival of displacement and rootlessness
Afro-Colombian people to Medellín has produced the emergence of complex intercultural relations and transformed the urban landscapes. We will review the historical process of identity construction in Antioquia in order to understand the invisibility of the presence, knowledge and expertise of Afrodescendants and to contextualize the resistance of the black communities, in the midst of exclusionary and discriminatory city
