Abstract

The spiritual dimension is analized as a source of relief for states of pain, suffering and death; the author proposes a definition of spirituality and studies the way in which it relates the individual with the world, confers sense to existence and facilitates the sharing of feelings; pain and suffering are looked upon from the anthropological and existential perspectives; the road to spirituality is proposed as a discovery of the self, the desire to live a senseful and in-depth life; guidelines are detailed for spiritual evaluation and support.
