ABSTRACT The asynchrony, proper of the order imposed by capitalism and the early process of cosmopolitism and individualization, has allowed the expression of certain features of modernization of literature since the second half of the nineteenth century. In this regard, both in María, the crisis of the representation of the European Romanticism and the rupture of the artist with his society and, in De sobremesa, the specialization in the art of the writer as opposed to the political commitment of the intellectuals are the most important manifestations of the modernization of literature.Downloads
