Abstract

In recent years, governability and governance appear in the local scene as models of public management alternative to bureaucratic administrative model. This paper pretends to explain the ways of gobernability and governance in Medellin during the period of 2004 to 2007. This may be an opportunity to enrich the reading on the forms of local government in order to explore the coexistence between local development and participatory democracy.
