Los imaginarios sociales

El artículo plantea una definición del concepto “imaginarios sociales”, desde el cual se desarrollan algunas de las características que los identifican. De igual modo, realiza un ejercicio que diferencia los imaginarios, las utopías, las teorías y las representaciones sociales a fin de precisar el significado del concepto del que el artículo se ocupa. Se considera que la definición, caracterización y diferenciación de este concepto se torna en uno de los referentes que apoyan los procesos investigativos atinentes a lo que in-forma las prácticas de ciudadanía que configuran las y los jóvenes universitarios. Una investigación de esta naturaleza es susceptible de ser desarrollada con la intencionalidad de diseñar procesos educativos que fortalezcan el ejercicio de la ciudadanía y de las nuevas ciudadanías que puede desplegar la juventud universitaria. El texto hace parte de la indagación teórica que supone la investigación «Representaciones sociales, expresiones de participación, razonamiento social y prácticas educativas, relacionadas con la formación ciudadana en el contexto universitario: un análisis del sentido y condiciones de posibilidad, de un proyecto de formación ciudadana en la educación superior». Este proyecto de investigación es financiado por el Comité Central de Investigaciones de la Universidad de Antioquia, CODI, durante los años 2008 a 2010.
