Abstract

This article seeks to interrogate the visions that contributed to reproducing the hegemonic project that shpaed the mestizaje process in Antioquia. These visions are structured around oppositions such as civilized/savage and urban/rural. This hegemonic project—a cultural, territorial and hegemonic endeavor—is analyzed through the novel La Marquesa de Yolombó by Tomás Carrasquilla.
