Abstract

This paper presents a case study of the indigenous resguardo of Nusido, located in the municipality of Frontino, in the western region of the department of Antioquia, Colombia. The study consisted of an ethnographical approach for identifying the links between cultural change and socio-spatial relations in order to comprehend the issues that have arisen with the positioning of monoculture of sugar cane and the elaboration of panela (a solid piece of unrefined sugar cane), in a context heavily signed by the agribusiness activity and the proximity to non-indigenous population centers.
