Un acercamiento, desde la pedagogía crítica, a la biblioteca pública como espacio para la formación ciudadana

El artículo hace parte de la reflexión surgida en el desarrollo de la tesis de doctorado “La biblioteca pública como espacio para la formación ciudadana, del programa de Doctorado en Educación de la Universidad de Antioquia. Se desarrollan los tres ejes temáticos en torno a los cuales gira la investigación: la pedagogía crítica, como base teórica; la formación ciudadana desde el espacio de la biblioteca pública; y los puntos de encuentro entre pedagogía crítica, formación ciudadana y biblioteca pública. A partir de estos ejes se invita a la reflexión y análisis del papel político de la biblioteca y a su potencial de intervención en las dinámicas sociales, en tanto que sus realizaciones contribuyen a superar las desigualdades educativas, culturales, políticas, informativas y recreativas, desde una apuesta por la democratización de la información y el conocimiento como herramientas esenciales para lograr el desarrollo social con equidad.
