Abstract. Without refuting the canonic carácter of the work of the Polish Bronislaw Malinowski (1884-1942) in the history of anthropology, it is necesary to recognize that the image of the author passed throughout the 20th century between crisis and fame which means a very evident heterogeneity, such that the fame of Malinowski is based successively on the figures of theoretician, methodologist, the writer and the literary personaje.
