Abstract: This article presents an analysis of Reptil en el Tiempo (1986), a novel by María Helena Uribe de Estrada, by using the computacional linguistic program Cratilo (© Jorge Antonio Mejía, Francisco Javier Álvarez, John Albeiro Sánchez, Universidad de Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia). The roman was chosen because of its innovative form, the topic it proposes and its structural construction. The treatment of the space in the novel is based on the locative adverbs. Only adverbs that completely fullfill their function (their univocity) appear, and those that because of their context seem equivocal are left out of consideration. Their proportionality is verified: their relation with all of the frequencies to build a graded hierarchy that indicates the priority established facing the text and thus its possible signification.
Key words: Colombian Novel; Computational Linguistic; Cratilo Program; Colombian Woman’s Literature; Reptil en el tiempo; Uribe de Estrada, María Helena.
