La historia natural del VIH-1 ha hecho evidente la existencia demecanismos de resistencia a la infección y a su progreso (1); entre
ellos se destacan la predisposición genética e inmune del huésped que parecen ser factores importantes para explicar la variabilidad individual y poblacional en respuesta al virus (2). Polimorfismos en
correceptores del VIH-1 y en sus ligandos parecen jugar un papel
importante en la patogénesis de la infección. De otro lado, alelos del
CMH, principalmente clase I, se han asociado con resistencia/susceptibilidad a la infección (3).
