Commentary on the paper by Pablo Covarrubias

In this commentary on the article by P. Covarrubias, I highlight my early interest in ecological psychology led by J. J. Gibson and basically focused on the subject of perception. Then, the assumptions of cognitive psychology, the idea of direct perception, the concept of invariance, which he related to that of constancy in the psychology of traditional perception. I also criticize the theory of ‘Information Extraction’ and finally focus on the issue of temporal conditioning and temporal perceptual constancy, to say that both are functionally the same associative phenomenon, with different adjusting purposes and at a first level of concreteness.
