Abstract

This article summarizes the process of practicum carried out at Ciudadela Educativa y Cultural in the municipality of Andes with the intention of offering research training to young rural students at Institución Educativa Tapartó. Based on the achieved accomplishments and impacts, research capabilities and skills were identified in students; similarly, they were able to learn and implement the main research techniques, sharing them with the social and academic community of the village and with other research groups. In conclusion, we stress the importance of the research process as a key component in both primary and secondary education, as it promotes critical, creative and innovative thinking in students, based on their own needs, knowledge, skills, and aspirations.
