This article presents a general view of some considerations made by medical educators in the world, with the objective to leave to the reader elements for the reflection and the possibilitie of propose new educative strategies. It has the purpose of sugesting new Educative strategies for medical education in our country as in other regions of the world. The propose tendencies are: Globalization multidisciplinal activities and fortification of some areas within the curriculum of medicina, such as: Basic sciences, Investigation, Public Health and the Humanistic formation. Aditionally, some methodologies of education have appeared that have demonstrated to be complement of traditional classroom activities, laboratory and clinical rotations. Some of these methodologies are mentioned: simulation, use of technologies of information and communication (TIC), Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) and Based Problem Learning. To confront the new challenges raised worldwide in the medical education and to maintain high quality standards, it is necessary that faculties of medicine understand the accelerated changes that are presently occurring. It is necessary to innovate in educational methodologies that foment the selflearning and active participation in learning process, implement the new information technologies, fortify the interrelation between basic and clinics sciences, thus fomenting partner-humanistic formation and public health aspects, creating research lines in which the students may participate actively to promote a flexible curriculum which allows our students to strenghten knowledge areas of their interest.
