Comparabilidad transcultural de lo queer y lo trans: adaptaciones impredecibles desde el interior de “Occidente”

Résumé

La recherche transculturelle et translinguistique sur le genre est confrontée au problème persistant de l'attachement à la terminologie anglophone et à l'expérience anglo-américaine correspondante. Queer et trans, en particulier, sont deux concepts qui peuvent avoir des contreparties culturellement spécifiques. Cependant, diverses relations de pouvoir opèrent pour réduire au silence ou marginaliser quelques termes, usages et déclarations alternatifs, tant dans le milieu universitaire que dans les discussions profanes ou militantes. Ces dynamiques ne s'inscrivent pas toujours dans le cadre d'une division rigide entre l'Occident ou le non-Occident. Cette réflexion examine comment les termes queer et trans ont fonctionné en espagnol et en grec moderne en termes de participation communautaire, subjectivation de genre et incorporation linguistique générale. À cette fin, cet article met en avant deux contextes socioculturels spécifiques dans lesquels le queer et le trans ont été sur le devant de la scène récemment, à savoir le débat autour d'un nouveau projet de loi sur le trans en Espagne en 2021, d'une part, et le meurtre de Zak Kostopoulos, un(e) éminent(e) activiste queer grec(que), en 2018, d'autre part. Une brève contextualisation de ces deux tensions permettra non seulement de mettre en lumière la manière dont la terminologie des études sur la sexualité et le genre a contribué à la construction de réalités sociales concrètes, mais comment elles ont également motivé des tensions politiques avec des groupes sociaux réactionnaires. Nous espérons que cette comparaison des usages linguistiques de la terminologie queer et trans contribuera à la recherche queer liée à la traduction et à l'adaptation culturelle dans d'autres contextes.
