Abstract

Background: Currently, climate change and malnutrition are present in all countries worldwide. The double burden of nutrition at all levels is related to food security and climate change, not only regarding food availability but also due to phenomena such as economic crises, increasing food prices, acculturation, loss of food biodiversity, and the adoption of new Westernized dietary patterns. Reflection: The interaction between the Double burden, food security, and
climate change is a globally concerning issue that must be addressed beyond food availability, as it affects the health of millions of people worldwide and poses significant challenges to the sustainability and future of the planet. Conclusion: The double burden of nutrition, food and nutrition security, and climate change constitute a triple challenge to global health. These three factors are closely interconnected and reinforce each other, creating a vicious cycle that negatively affects the world’s population, especially vulnerable communities.
