This document presents some ideas of Professor Marco Rieckmann about competencies in higher education and sustainable development. These ideas are related to the importance of working on teacher training, which engages their thinking and actions to seek solutions and innovations in teaching with the intention to generate environmental, social and sustainable education alternatives to care for our world and the future of mankind.
