Guidelines for Guest Editors

The journal has a publication system with external guest editors. We permanently receive thematic issue proposals that are assessed by the members of the scientific and editorial committees. If the proposal is submitted by a member of the editorial team, they are considered to have a conflict of interest at the time of making a decision. The editor accepts or rejects the proposal with the help of the editorial team. People who send proposals must respect the editorial workflow and the order in which the proposals were received, as well as accept the dates proposed by the editor. The main tasks of guest editors are: writing the call for papers, helping with the search and selection process of reviewers, helping to make decisions about the acceptance or rejection of articles —according to the reviewers’ comments—, helping to settle difficult cases, and writing the editorial (see Section policies). Guest editors may have an article on the issue, but they must declare themselves unsuitable to select a
reviewer for it, as well as for the final publication decision. This process will be taken over by the journal’s main editor. Guest editors must know the journal’s rules and accept them, as well as their respective duties. No decision made by guest editors is above the journal’s respective guidelines. The main editor will dispense with the guest editors’ participation, or make final decisions, if they do not fulfill the due academic, ethical and technical criteria declared by the journal.
