La sélection de contenus et la politique de traduction à la BBC Mundo et à la BBC Brasil : une analyse statistique descriptive

Résumé

L’évolution des technologies de la communication et les processus de mondialisation des dernières décennies ont conduit à la consolidation d’une industrie de la communication dominée par un nombre limité de producteurs de nouvelles, dont le pouvoir sur le marché ne cesse de croître. Il s’agit souvent de grands groupes de médias, qui proposent des contenus numériques dans différentes lan­gues, adaptés aux publics de différentes régions. À cet égard, le cas de la BBC est paradigmatique, car son financement est en grande partie constitué de fonds publics. L’objectif de cet article est de com­prendre comment la politique de sélection de contenus (gatekeeping) et de traduction de la BBC se maté­rialise dans les versions espagnole et portugaise pour l’Amérique Latine, comment celles-ci sont liées au site anglais et dans quelle mesure elles sont indépendantes en termes de contenu ou comment elles adaptent l’information au public cible. L’étude a été réalisée par une analyse statistique descriptive des contenus, sur la base d’un échantillon recueilli entre le 14 novembre 2016 et le 1er janvier 2017. Les résultats indiquent que les sites web du BBC World Service pour l’Amérique du Sud ont leur propre politique de sélection des contenus ou de contrôle d’accès, et une intention d’adapter les contenus à la spécificité du lecteur cible est perceptible.

Sara de Albornoz-Domínguez, Université d'Oviedo

Licence en histoire (Université d'Oviedo, 2005) et en traduction et interprétation (Université de Grenade, 2008). Elle travaille actuellement sur sa thèse de doctorat sur les politiques de traduction des versions espagnole et portugaise de la BBC dans le cadre de la ligne de recherche sur les langues, cultures et littératures européennes et leurs diasporas du programme de doctorat en recherche humaniste de l'Université d'Oviedo.
