This is qualitative study about the perception of students and teachers on practical training experience In vivo, as a potential to transform the practices of experimental pharmacology in the context of the pluri biodiversity, linked to the epidemiological triad health-transformation-development. Methodology: 14 practices were extracts and medicines, where we emphasized the importance to observe, assess, reflect and analyze their effects on experimental biomodels (mice) and relate them to potential effects in humans, documentary sources, students´ competencies during the practices and questionnaire responses. Result: students do not have training in animal handling and experimental research; they perceive poorly the essential value of observation, reflection and holistic analysis about the close relationship between theory and practice for writing reports and doing experiments. They expect the teacher to guide them step by through the technical procedure, according to the practice needs, they do not reason why and how the observed effect in the biomodel, comparing the reported effects on the pharmacological literature. Conclusions: based on the students´ performance during these practices, we can infer that their vocational training is identified more from a procedural mindset of the grade and the fulfillment of a requirement.
