Abstract

Under the academic direction of Pilar Martino Alba, from the Rey Juan Carlos University, the book presents the work of twenty-six authors whose articles offer the reader insightful analyzes of theater and translation. The repertoire begins with the translator Miguel Ángel Vega Cernuda, from the University of Alicante, who, from his experience as a libretto translator, brings us closer to a reflection on the translation of musical literature, especially on the translation of a text that has been relegated to oblivion: the dramatic-musical text; pointing out translation difficulties, derived from both the type of text and the communication medium through which it is disseminated. While Vega Cernuda dwells more on the musical, Jana Králová gives us a brief historical account of Translation Studies in Europe, specifically of Czech translational thought, and specifically of Jiri Lévy, immersing himself in both the analysis of the genesis and the reception of the dramatic text , as well as the importance of studying the relationships between theater and translation, in order to understand in advance the concepts of translation.
