Abstract

The reader sees in this text the conjunction of two basic thoughts of the western arts in the second of the XIX century: that of Richard Wagner and that of Charles Baudelaire. This conjunction goes beyond the limits of music and poetry, restricted fields in which the two creators are located, and extends, through reflection on drama, to the sphere of art in general.

Mario Martín Botero, Universidad de Antioquia

Doctor in French Literature and Civilization from the University of La Sobornne Nouvelle-Paris. Professor of the Department of Linguistics andDoctor en Literatura y Civilización Francesa de la Universidad de la Sobornne Nouvelle-Paris. Profesor de Departamento de Lingüística y Literatura de la Universidad de Antioquia y miembro fundador del grupo de investigación Estudios de literatura medieval y renacentista. También es miembro del Centro de Estudios de la Edad Media de la Universidad de Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, del grupo de investigación Cultura, Literatura y Traducción Iber-Artúrica de la Universidad de Valladolid, de la Sociedad Artúrica Internacional y de la Sociedad Internacional Roncesvalles.  Literature at the University of Antioquia and founding member of the research group Medieval and Renaissance Literature Studies. He is also a member of the Center for the Study of the Middle Ages of the University of Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, of the research group Culture, Literature and Iber-Arturic Translation of the University of Valladolid, of the International Arturic Society and of the Roncesvalles International Society.
