Author Biography

José Joaquín García García, University of Antioquia

Graduate in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Tolima (Ibagué, Colombia); Master in Teaching Chemistry from the National Pedagogical University (Bogotá, Colombia) and Doctor from the University of Granada in the area of Didactics of Experimental Sciences (Grenada, Spain). Professor García has received several awards as a beneficiary of the ICFES - IDB, INTERCAMPUS, AECID and COCIENCIAS scholarship programs; in addition to having been awarded to the research of the University of Antioquia (year, 2000). Currently, Professor García is a Professor in the Faculty of Education of the University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia). He directs the research group INNOVACIENCIA classified by the National and Research Agency of Colombia. COLCIENCIAS. Professor García has been Director of the Specialization in Education in Experimental Sciences and Head of the Department of Teaching in the Sciences and the Arts. He has published a number of articles in journals specialized in the field of Education in Experimental Sciences, in addition to books and book chapters on the same subject in renowned publishers. Professor García Investigates in the field of science education on issues such as problem solving, the development of scientific creativity, and the role of representations, models and modelling in science education.
