John Amos Comenius, surpassed or unknown?

Abstract

March 28th marks the birthday of the father of modern pedagogy Jan Amos Komensky (1592-1670). This Czech author, for whose name there are more versions than for his critical thinking, I say this with an intentional disproportion, has passed through our academies, most of the time, only as a "proper name" to be remembered in the history of pedagogy and the opposite case comes to mind: that of his contemporary René Descartes, of whom until now, for better or for worse, has not ceased to be spoken of.
