ChatGPT como uma ferramenta para aprimorar a expressão escrita no inglês língua estrangeira

Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo é investigar as possibilidades do ChatGPT como assistente para a escrita académica em uma língua estrangeira na educação universitária. Para isso, os alunos realizaram uma tarefa de redação e experimentaram as possibilidades do robô em termos de correção e aprimoramento da expressão escrita no gênero ensaio no inglês. O resultado do uso do ChatGPT foi avaliado por meio de uma análise detalhada das interações dos alunos com o instrumento. Por meio dessa análise, foram detectados erros e acertos dessa ferramenta. Os resultados mostram que o ChatGPT —graças à sua enorme quantidade de dados— pode oferecer aos alunos uma ampla gama de opções de aprimoramento, desde vocabulário e gramática até estrutura e conteúdo do texto. No entanto, o uso dessa tecnologia para fins de ensino tem limitações, especificamente na interação do usuário com o robô, pois é essencial dar instruções muito precisas para garantir a interpretação correta das informações pelo ChatGPT. No entanto, como ferramenta de apoio e aprendizado, ela é útil desde que haja orientação e supervisão do professor.
