Résumé

Cette étude descriptive non expérimentale a pour ambition de découvrir  si le
transfert linguistique négatif causé par la perception orale des phonèmes de
voyelles espagnoles est responsable des erreurs d’orthographe dans les travaux
écrits des élèves en fin d’école primaire d’un établissement bilingue anglais-
espagnol à Concepción. Les sujets de cette étude ont été confrontés à des tests de
compréhension de l’oral au cours desquels ils ont dû représenter graphiquement 
les voyelles anglaises /ʌ/ et /æ/ présentes dans douze pseudo-mots. Les résultats
sont en accord avec la littérature sur le sujet du transfert négatif phonétique-
phonologique, démontrant ainsi l’influence de la phonétique espagnole sur la
perception orale des voyelles anglaises, qu’il s’agisse de pseudo-mots isolés ou
inclus dans un contexte sémantique.
