Efectividad del Empleo de los Materiales Auténticos en el Proceso de Adquisición de una Lengua Extranjera

Entre los especialistas de la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras (LE) existe una profunda escisión metodológica en cuanto al tipo de material que se ha de emplear en la sala de clase Esta escisión se puede plantear básicamente en la dicotomía entre los materiales de tipo graduado (es decir material simplificado, diseñado exclusivamente con el fin de introducir algún elemento lingüístico para su aprendizaje por parte de los estudiantes de la lengua extranjera -tipo texto guía) y los materiales de tipo auténtico (es decir material no-graduado, producido por parte de los hablantes de esta lengua y para los usuarios de la misma, sin modificación alguna, y sin el propósito de servir para la instrucción en LE, por ejemplo: las películas, las revistas, los periódicos, etc.).
